The National Transport Commission announced today that there will be no revision in bus fares, despite recent changes in fuel prices. This decision was echoed by the Lanka Private Bus Owners' Association, with its President, Gemunu Wijeratne, confirming that private bus fares will also remain unchanged.
Meanwhile, Lalith Dharmasena, President of the All Ceylon Three Wheeler Drivers' Association, expressed dissatisfaction with the reduced petrol prices, stating that the decrease is insufficient to warrant a reduction in three-wheeler fares.
The decision not to revise fares has drawn mixed reactions from commuters and service providers, with many questioning the long-term implications of fluctuating fuel costs on transportation services.
