Weather Update: Cyclone Forecast Brings Heavy Rain and Strong Winds to Sri Lanka


The Meteorological Department of Sri Lanka has announced that the depression over the southwest Bay of Bengal has intensified into a deep depression and is likely to develop into a cyclone by November 27, 2024.

As of 11:30 am on November 26, the system was located approximately 280 km southeast of Trincomalee and is predicted to approach Sri Lanka's eastern coastline.
