Sarvajana Balaya' Kicks Off Campaign in Anuradhapura, Promises Ethical Politics

The ‘Sarvajana Balaya’ alliance officially began its campaign for the upcoming general election today (19) in Anuradhapura. Led by entrepreneur Dilith Jayaweera, the alliance seeks to bring a fresh perspective to Sri Lankan politics, focusing on integrity, transparency, and national preservation.


Symbolic Start in Anuradhapura

Before launching the campaign, Jayaweera visited the sacred Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi and Ruwanweli Maha Saya, seeking blessings for the journey ahead. This gesture reflects the alliance’s respect for Sri Lanka’s cultural and spiritual heritage as it embarks on its mission for change.


Vision for Transparent Politics

On the previous day (18), Jayaweera met with Gampaha District divisional leaders in Kalgedihena to outline the alliance’s vision. Emphasizing ethical leadership, he stated, “We are doing politics by spending our own money, not by extorting money from others.”

Jayaweera stressed the importance of prioritizing national integrity alongside economic development, stating, “No matter how the country’s economy develops, it’s crucial that the nation is preserved.”

Jayaweera expressed confidence in the alliance’s potential, describing the upcoming election as a “golden opportunity.” He hinted at the possibility of a surprising result, signaling his belief in the alliance’s ability to resonate with voters.
