Former Minister Kanchana Wijesekera addressed allegations from the National People's Force regarding fuel sales during his tenure as Energy Minister. He stated that the recent fuel price revision has disproved claims made by the opposition, which accused him of profiting from fuel sales.
Wijesekera pointed out that if such claims were true, then the current minister in charge, Anura Dissanayake, would also be pocketing money from fuel sales. He expressed his gratitude to the government for realizing the truth about fuel transactions and emphasized that the public can now discern the truth from the falsehoods that have been circulated by the opposition for a long time.
His remarks were made during a public meeting held in Matara, where he highlighted the transparency of the fuel sales process and the groundless nature of the criticisms directed at him by the National People's Force and other groups.
